01
What The Wishing Well is
The Wishing Well is a personal reflection and contemplative practice tool. It uses artificial intelligence to help you write a first-person narrative scene — a quiet, grounded account of your life as though a desired outcome is already part of it.
The practice is drawn from a tradition of imaginative prayer and mental rehearsal: the idea that vividly inhabiting a completed state — feeling it as memory rather than wish — can shift the emotional posture from which you move through your days.
That is all this is. A writing tool for a specific kind of contemplative practice.
02
AI-generated content
Every scene you receive is generated by a large language model (Anthropic’s Claude) based on what you write. The scenes are creative narrative fiction designed for personal reflection.
They are not predictions of the future. They are not descriptions of what will happen, what should happen, or what is spiritually destined. They are not factually accurate accounts of any past or future event.
AI models can produce plausible-sounding language that is incorrect, incomplete, or unexpected. If a scene contains something that surprises or disturbs you, it does not carry any special meaning — the model does not know you, and its outputs are not omens, messages, or guidance. They are generated text.
Your own judgment about what resonates is the only filter that matters.
03
Not medical or mental health advice
The Wishing Well is not a medical service, a mental health treatment, a therapy tool, or a crisis intervention resource. Nothing in this app — including AI-generated content, guided prompts, or any other feature — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind.
This app is not appropriate as a substitute for professional care if you are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or any other mental health condition. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, please stop and reach out to someone who can help.

04
A tool, not a spiritual authority
The practice behind this app draws on ideas from contemplative prayer, Neville Goddard’s teaching on the imagination, and related traditions. We find these ideas compelling and have built around them.
We are not a religion, a spiritual authority, a church, or a teacher. We do not claim to speak for any tradition. We do not claim that our interpretation of these ideas is the correct one.
If you have a spiritual practice, a faith tradition, or a guide you trust — none of that is in conflict with using a writing tool. But this tool does not replace any of it.
05
No guaranteed outcomes
We make no claims about whether this practice will produce any specific result in your life. Whether any form of contemplative practice, visualization, or imaginative rehearsal changes outcomes is a question that belongs to you, your experience, and your own assessment.
Any examples, stories, or descriptions of results — in this app, in our communications, or elsewhere — represent individual experiences. They are not typical, not guaranteed, and not a promise of what you will experience.
A session here is an invitation to practice. What you do with it is yours.
06
Not professional advice of any kind
Nothing in The Wishing Well is legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or career advice. Do not make significant life decisions based on AI-generated content from this app.
For decisions that matter, consult the appropriate licensed professionals.
